Old city of Bern, Switzerland.

The Old City is the medieval city center of Bern, SwitzerlandIts. Its compact layout has remained essentially unchanged since its construction during the 12th to the 15th. century. Despite a major fire in 1405, after which much of the city was rebuilt in Sandstone ,  and substantial construction efforts in the 18th. century, Bern’s old city has retained its medieval character. Old City of Bern, Switzerland is a UNESCO Cultural World Heritage Site since 1983 due to the compact and generally intact medieval core and is an excellent example of incorporating the modern world into a medieval city. Numerous buildings in the Old City have been designated as Swiss Cultural Properties of National Significance, as well as the entire Old City.

From my Europe diary

Let me post some of the beautiful pictures captured during my Europe tour. It is difficult to select pictures out of thousands. In my opinion, whole Europe is beautiful, well maintained and people are disciplined rule abiding and tourist friendly.  This is concluded as a result of my observations during my stay at Switzerland over a month. Some of the beautiful pictures of those beautiful countries are placed here so that you can see how beautiful they are.

 London to Paris by road

This is the standard roads (Highways) of Europe and it is noticed that there is no road is crossing the highway. All crossings are avoided by overbridges so there is  no interuption of traffic on the Highway. We travelled smoothly 600 to 800 Kms per day but never felt tireness because of the smooth highways and also may be the climatic conditions.

Interlaken is the place which connects Jungfraujoch (top of Europe) and many other tourist spots and also Golden Pass Express can be availed from that place (Interlaken West or Interlaken OST (East)).Interlaken itself is a beautiful tourist place where lot many Hotels, Indian Restaurants are available.

This beautiful fountain is created and maintained by Swarovski in their campus where a beautiful Crystal Museum “World of Swarovski Crystals” is available to be explored by the tourists.

The great big Fork of Vevey, Switzerland. Photographed by Anil m at Vevey on 03 Jul 2011. Vevey is the town on the bank of Lake Geneva, Switzerland, where the world HQ of Nestle is situated and the Fork has been installed by Nestle and it has become the symbol of the town Vevey.

No, it is not a manipulated picture. Its a true picture taken on 3 Jul 2011 by me at Vevey town of Switzerland. Chairs are permanently fixed on the rocks of the Lake shore which can be used by anyone. See carefully, at your left, some more chirs are occupied by some beautiful ladies, It their way of life. The lady is reading a book on the lake side and other ladies seems to be interested in chit chatting to pass their time at this beautiful atmoshphere.
